Microsoft was the first to reveal the future of gaming today on the eve of E3 with an momentous presentation showing amazing graphics and gameplay we have come to expect from all things Xbox. After watching the Microsoft Media Report at E3 it is hard not to get excited about all the new announcements! As promised Phil Spencer and his team previewed a ton of new games and content coming to the Xbox One:
Call of Duty Advanced Warfare
Call of Duty Advanced Warfare, coming November 11 of this year got the crowd riled up with the next gen graphics we expect from The Call of Duty franchise; giving us powerful battlegrounds of the future with new weapons and new technology.
Forza Horizon 2
Forza Horizon 2, coming September 30 looks even more realistic than Forza 5 with a new weather system, improved drivatars and a new location in Southern Europe.
Evolve, from the creators of Left For Dead, is an awesome first-person shooter/sci-fi journey coming this fall.
Assassin’s Creed Unity
Assassin’s Creed Unity takes place in France on the eve of the French Revolution where the royal palace is under siege, the graphics and gameplay definitely live up to what we all expect from Assassin’s Creed.
Dragon Age Inquisition
Dragon Age Inquisition comes out October 7 and the players will play the role of the inquisitor, The new Dragon Age has a much wider variety of dragons with more breath attacks, elemental attacks, varying amounts of armour.
One of the best trailers was for Sunset Overdrive, coming October 28. The hero of the story tells us about how a contaminated energy drink turned everyone in Sunset City into mutants. In the game you are the hero traversing through the Sunset City amusement park fighting mutants “with style.” This game has a perfect combination of tongue in cheek humor and live action. True to the Capcom style and in honor of Capcom’s 31st anniversary they bring you Deadrising 3 arcade adventure, available now for download on Xbox Live.
And for the kids we have Disney Fantasia Music Evolve coming October 27 and finally and popular favorite, Dance Central is back with Dance Central Spotlight coming in September . For those of you who loved the Project Spark Beta, the complete game will be available soon! Ori and The Blind Forest is a beautiful game coming this holiday season.
The much anticipated Halo announcement revealed Halo The Master Chief Collection coming November 11 so we have something to tide us over until 2015 when Halo 5 Guardians comes out. The Master Chief Collection combines gameplay from Halo Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, and Halo 4 with custom playlists, and remastered graphics. The Halo 5 Beta will be available December 2014. With the help of renowned director Ridley Scott, Halo Nightfall, a live action digital series that leads up to Halo 5 Guardians will be included in the Halo Master Chief Collection.
There are a 100 independent developers with a ton of new games from the ID@Xbox division with games like Team Colorblind, Knight Squad, White Knight, Spectra, Cuphead, Hyper Light, Dive Kick, Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime, Below, Splashdash, Mighty9. Grave, Threes, Chariot, Woolfe, #Idare, Another World, Hellraid, Plague Inc. Evolved, There Came an Echo, Source, Guacamelee!, Calibre 10 Racing, Fru, Wulver Blade, Qube, Pure Pool, Habitat, Earthlock Festival of Magic, Roundabout, The Golf Club, Lifeless Planet, Siegecraft Commander, Riptide 2,and Fenix Rage.
The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt
The much anticipated The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt is finally coming in February of 2015! With graphics as real as those in Ryse Son of Rome, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a perfect combination of an evolving story driven by the characters in an open world. It is well worth the wait!
Tom Clancy’s The Division,coming in 2015 takes place in New York three weeks after a lethal virus, released on Black Friday, has swept through the city. The graphics and gameplay look similar to the current division with new environments that give it more apocalyptic feel. It stays true to the Tom Clancy style with great new content. Finally Scalebound with a TBA release date offers beautiful graphics in which the players fight monsters with their dragon companion.
After teaming up with Iron Galaxy Studios, Microsoft is releasing Killer Instinct Season 2 this fall an introduces its first new character TJ Combo.
Another much anticipated announcement was Rise of Tomb Raider, coming in 2015. With hyper realistic graphics this looks more like a movie than a game. The trailer was brilliant, once you everyone realized it was Lara Croft you could feel the excitement in the air!
All in all Phil Spencer and Microsoft did an amazing job building up the excitement for these much anticipated games. Microsoft is doing it big,they did not disappoint. No one can claim that Xbox One doesn’t have enough games any games anymore, they are building an impressive catalogue that offers something for everyone.
